As important players in the health sector, pharmacies, like many others, have not been spared by the crisis linked to the coronavirus pandemic.

The drop in the number of customers observed during the first wave (particularly strong in pharmacies in shopping centres and urban centres) inevitably led to a drop in pharmacy turnover, especially as the most popular products (masks and hydroalcoholic gels) were quickly out of stock.

Pharmacists were also forced to be on the front line of the fight against Covid-19 because of their role as advisors, easy to access and free of charge, and were therefore exposed not only to the virus, but also to the anxiety of customers, worried about their health and that of their relatives.
